On Wednesday, July 22, members of the Winndeavor team met up at La Porte’s very own Stone Lake Beach in a coordinated effort to clean up along the waterfront.

Winn Machine co-owner Dina Gasaway:

“A few weekends ago, Damon and I went to Stone Lake Beach to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with our son Jordan, his bride-to-be Kate, and their dogs. We were disappointed to find it wasn’t as clean and inviting as we hoped it would be.”

For Dina and Damon, the next step was clear:

“At a quality meeting, we asked the Winn team if they would be willing to participate in an effort to clean up at the beach; everyone stepped up.”

Dina put it well when she said, “In the midst of COVID, quarantine, and the tumultuous political climate, it was good for the Winn team to connect with each other and nature and to make a positive contribution to the community we live and work in. Being outside bright and early to start our day certainly put everyone in a good mood.”

We would be remised if we didn’t give special mention to the City of La Porte Director of Parks and Recreation Mark Schreiber for his help: giving us permission and the necessary bags, rakes, and poker sticks to clean up the site. We also want to thank our friends at Beacon Medical Group in La Porte.

Winndeavor is proud to be part of the La Porte community and because of that pride, we believe it is part of our civic responsibility to help keep our community the beautiful place to live and work that it is.
